How to Get Rid of Keloid Scars

Keloids is actually the excessive growth of scar tissues on skin usually of pink and flesh-colored. These are thick and irregular in shape, shiny and lumpy. There are several ways to heal them or improve them. The best ways to get rid of Keloid scars are given below.

1. Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera is a natural product that can be used to reduce scars on the skin. But it can help only the new scars not the old one of more than one year. To get rid of keloid scars, firstly use it as test if it really works and helps scars to reduce so use it twice a day. Buy a bottle of it or fresh Aloe.

2. Lemon Juice

The best way to get rid of keloid scars is to try lemon juice. Lemon Juice also works to lighten up them. This causes them less noticeable by lightening up the upper layer skin cells. Use fresh lemon Juice. Apply on skin twice a day.

3. Onion Extract

For growing scars that moves on growing after the wound healing. Use Onion to reduce their growth. Onion is also helpful in scarp treatment. For this purpose keep a diced onion in cheesecloth and press it firmly till the extract comes out. Use cotton ball to apply it on keloids few times a day.

4. Vitamin E

The best way to get rid of keloid scars is to use Vitamin E. Vitamin E reduces scarp appearance by stimulating healthy skin. It is present in form of oil, capsule and cream also. Rub it over Keloids.

5. Ointment

Ointment cream having steroid also help to reduce their appearance on skin. Steroid helps to lessen itching which creates great problem having keloids. Apply ointment cream for recommended time and also use those creams having onion skin extract as it works a lot to reduce them.

6. Cortisone Injection

To get rid of keloid scars Steroid injections can be used on skin. These help to flatten them. Every month an injection is injected to reduce their effect till the result comes. But it does not remove them permanently. It just flattens them and does not bring them back to normal skin color.

7. Laser Treatment

Pulsed dye laser can also flatten the keloids and can make them appearing less red. But it is very costly and need regular treatment.

8. Silicon Sheets

Silicon sheet is also used to flatten the keloids by wearing it on exact place. It can be used for many hours, week and months till it effects. Similar compression dressing is done by using other material which is wrong.

9. Surgical Removal

If scars are really creating problem in movement so the final treatment is their removal by surgery. Plastic surgery is helpful in this regard but it is very expensive and risky as it may also lead to big scars. Sometimes it is successful if surgery wound is compressed by dressing. This helps in lessening the appearance of keloids.
